The Teaching Artist Apprenticeship (TAA) is a paid professional learning opportunity for Beaver County artists interested in arts education, creative facilitation, and community engagement.
Offered in partnership with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, this flexible apprenticeship supports artists ages 18 and older as they build teaching skills, gain hands-on experience, and work alongside experienced Teaching Artists. All trainings are paid, and each apprentice is guaranteed 2–3 paid teaching residencies during the 2026–27 program year.
Apprentices help design and lead engaging, hands-on art experiences for K-12 classrooms, early childhood education spaces, and out-of-school time programs.
Apprentices will:
Learn creative facilitation and classroom management strategies
Support lesson planning and arts-integrated programming
Collaborate with professional Teaching Artists
Gain real-world teaching experience and portfolio materials
Apprenticeship Compensation: $25/hour plus travel reimbursement
This program is supported by the Heinz Endowments and the PA Council on the Arts.
